so at one point after I finished the course, I bought myself a printing press and began to print at home.
The subject matter was the wild boars, which I happened to encounter in the countryside, where I rented a studio

I prepared quite a few ink paintings of the wild boars before doing the linocut prints
Those were the days that I was delighted to draw all the animals I encountered in the countryside, making stories about them as if they were friends in real life

at one point, I had an idea to move back to Canada, especially after the wild boars were gone, leaving me with less interesting subject matter to be inspired with- so a O Canada print was made, in 13 editions, except for artists' proofs, when I was granted Canadian citizenship

if I remember correctly, I must have sent 12 or 13 original prints, with each one being slightly different in the application of colors on the bodies of the blue jays, to Ottawa, Canada to commemorate that occasion

linocut prints realised during 1987-1989 during the course conducted by Professor Manfredi, at the Accademia di belle arti di Firenze

as well as some old watercolor drawings, ink paintings etc

It was the period that drawing became once more the main source of inspiration

drawing anything I saw: animals, plants, cooking utensils, favourite dish, then turning them into fantasy: writing stories about them; the wild boars that practice Tao, the cats that tell their own stories, the camels in Egypt who speaks to the sheep etc.,

then once in a while, some linocut prints were made

Thank you, Professor Manfredi
